Description: Please contact Joy Cirigliano to make reservations for this event at (631)766-3075.
Smithtown Library's Main Branch, One North Country Road, Smithtown. Meet by the white gazebo.
Please join 4HAS and Nature Initiative at the Native Pollinator Sun Garden located at the Gazebo on the Smithtown Library's main branch property. We will be learning about native and non-native plants and why native plants are so very important for our local ecosystem. We will be working in the gardens, splitting native perennials, removing weeds and adding new native plant plugs to the garden. We will do some plant id, and also learn about how to help our local pollinators and other insects and wildlife, plus what we can add to our own properties to help our winged, four-legged and multi-legged neighbors. Please bring gloves, cultivator or other gardening tools and a few empty flowerpots, for native plants giveaways!
