'Leave it to Beavers!' - FIRST FRIDAY MOVIE NIGHT

WhereThe Smithtown Library - Smithtown Building, 1 N Country Rd, Smithtown, NY 11787, USA (map)

Description: 'Leave it to Beavers' – Nature (2018) – Rescheduled from December 2021

We will be watching and then discussing Nature's "Leave it to Beavers" to discover why this curious animal is so important to our landscapes and ecosystems – Surprisingly, the beaver, more than any other animal, is responsible for creating fertile landscapes across North America. Unfortunately, it hasn't received much recognition for that accomplishment until now. A growing number of scientists, conservationists and grass-roots environmentalists have come to regard beavers as overlooked tools in reversing the effects of global warming and world-wide water shortages. After the movie, we will explore and discuss how the information affects and relates to our own lives, and livelihoods. Age appropriate from those in middle school to retirees!

For the budding environmentalist, and also those curious about how nature and how the natural world works .Contact Joy Cirigliano to register at (631) 766-3075. Or reserve on the Smithtown Library website.
