Wednesday Walk at Arthur Kunz County Park

Where: Arthur H Kunz County Park, Landing Rd, Smithtown, NY 11787, USA (map)

Description: Situated on the western bank of the Nissequogue River near its estuarine mouth, this 93-acre forested property features tidal creeks, a lush, mixed deciduous forest, rolling hills and valleys and quaint hidden streams and ponds all of which provide important habitat for wildlife.  We will explore the trais for year-round residents, early returning breeders like Yellow and Black-and-White Warblers, some shorebirds and returning gulls, as well as some lingering birds like Winter Wren and Swamp Sparrow.

One Landing Road, Kings Park.  Located on the corner of Landing Rd. and Landing Ave. 

Walk is about 2 miles and will last about 3 hours.  Bring water and a snack if desired.  Inclement weather cancels the walk.  If so, those who register will be contacted.  Cancelled walks are posted on Facebook.
