Second Wednesday Bird Walk

Where: Blydenburgh County Park, North Entrance off CR 25, Smithtown, NY 11788, USA (map)

Description: Enjoy a weekday bird walk at some of our local parks and preserves.  Join us as we bird this Important Bird Area (IBA).  We will view lingering winter waterfowl and resident and wintering species as we hike and bird through the mixed forest habitat and Stump Pond and surrounding areas.  We might see Eastern Bluebird, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, and other passerines as well as the waterfowl commonly found on the pond including Ring-necked Ducks, and Common and Hooded Merganser, to name but a few.  Meet in the parking lot.   The north entrance can be reached from CR25, take Brooksite south), turn right at first light onto New Mill Road going west and follow to park entrance at end. The walk is approximately 2-3 miles.
