BIRDING THE CENTRAL PARK RAMBLE

Where: Central Park, West 72 Street and Central Park West (map)

Description: Join trip leader, Gil Yang, and Four Harbors Audubon Society on a birding trip to Central Park to view spring migrants during their brief stay here before continuing to their northern breeding grounds. Central Park has hosted up to 30 warbler species, some of which include: American Redstart, Kentucky, Tennessee, Hooded, Cape May, Mourning, Canada, Wilson's, Blackburnian, Prothonotary, and many more. Expect to see other migrants: vireos, flycatchers, thrushes, swallows, buntings, grosbeaks, and orioles, as well as year-round resident birds and those returning to their home in Central Park to breed and raise their young. Meet at 7:30 a.m. sharp at West 72nd street and Central Park West across the street from the Dakota Apartment Bldg. From Penn Station, the C subway train takes you to 72nd street and Central Park West. Bring breakfast/lunch, and water.
