Native Habitat Garden Outreach/Education and Volunteer Day

Where: The Smithtown Library - Kings Park Building, 1 Church St, Kings Park, NY 11754, USA (map)

Description: Please contact Joy Cirigliano to make reservations for this event at (631)766-3075.  One Church St, Kings Park, NY 11754.   Meet outside the front door on Church Street. Please join 4HAS and Nature Initiative at the Kings Park Library Branch to work in the habitat garden and learn about local native plants that are both attractive and great for the environment. We will be working in the gardens, splitting native perennials, removing weeds and possibly planting new native plants. We will learn about how to help our local pollinators and other insects and wildlife, our neighborhood ecosystems, and what we can do on our own properties to help our winged, four-legged and multi-legged neighbors. Please bring gloves, cultivator or other gardening tools and a few empty flowerpots, for native plants giveaways!
