BIRDING DURING FALL MIGRATION AT CENTRAL PARK

Where: Central Park, West 72 street entrance, northeast corner of intersection, opposite The Dakota (map)

Description:  Friday, September 17, 2021, 8 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m., but we may stay longer. Join trip Leader Gil Yang and Four Harbors Audubon Society on a birding trip to Central Park to view fall migrants during their brief stay here before continuing onto their wintering grounds. Central Park has hosted up to 30 warbler species, some of which include Prothonotary, Kentucky, Cape May, Hooded, Canada, Wilson’s, Mourning, Kirtland’s, Blackburnian, and many more. Expect to see other migrants: vireos, flycatchers, thrushes, grosbeaks, and orioles, as well as year-round resident birds. We will meet at the West 72nd street entrance to Central Park, northeast corner of that intersection (across street from the Dakota) at 8 a.m. For those taking the LIRR into Manhattan, take the UPTOWN C subway train to 72nd Street (4th stop). Bring breakfast/lunch, and water. RSVP required. Please email: fourharborsheron@gmail.com to reserve and if you have any questions.  Cell phone numbers will be exchanged prior to the trip.
